Located in the heart of the Phuntsholing town at just few steps from the Bhutan-India gate is the Zangto Pelri Lhakhang adjoined with a park. Zangto Pelri means celestial abode of Guru Rinpoche. The gates to the park greet the visitors warmly and the entrance is led by flower gardens and a fountain. The park is famous among both locals and tourists as it is a great place to relax and mellow their thoughts. Elders come to circumambulate around the Lhakhang and spin the prayer wheels to spend their day away while children play and chit chat away with their friends. The ambience the park emanates is very pleasant and the tinkle sound from the rotating prayer wheels is a therapy to the ears and the mind in itself. A visit inside the Lhakhang is absolutely recommended as it has a collection of statues and the walls echo with paintings and mural of Guru Padmasambhava and other great saints of Bhutan.
