How to reach Bhutan from Delhi

How can I reach to Bhutan from Delhi India?
Airline companies in Bhutan operate a direct flight from Delhi to Paro Bhutan. It is the easiest and most convenient option to get to Bhutan from Delhi albeit a little expensive compared to the other option, that is travelling to Bhutan by road. If you are travelling by air, you will be issued the entry permit on arrival at the airport without having to go to the immigration office and apply for the entry permit which takes a very long time.

Another option as mentioned before is travelling by road. If you are considering this option then you will have to reach Jaigaon. It is a town in the Alipurduar district, West Bengal, India. It the town shares border with Phuntsoling Bhutan. For your information, the closest Indian Airport to this town is the Bagdogra airport and the closest railway station is the Hasimara railyway station.

So you may take a train up to Hasimara railyway station and take a bus or taxi ride to Phuntsoling town. Or you can fly into Bagdogra Airport and take a taxi to Phuntsoling Bhutan. Bagdogra airport is approximately 5 hours away from Phuntsoling Bhutan.

We took a IndiGo flight to Bagdogra from Delhi. It was over a 2 hours flight. It took us over 5 hours to get to Phuntsoling from Bagdogra airport. Taxi and buses are easily available.
There are many trains that leave from Delhi to New Jalpaiguri Station, Siliguri, West Bengal. It takes 15 hours to reach NJP station from Delhi.

Bhutan border is just 3 hours away from this station.
Thank you everybody. How about Kolkata? Can I travel to Bhutan from Kolkata?
Heenal, there are airlines operating direct flight out of Kolkata to Paro Bhutan. It is only a 40 minute flight. FYI only local airlines fly into Bhutan. No Indian airlines or any other international airlines fly to Bhutan.
