Hiring taxi in Bhutan

Hi, three of us (all adults) are planning to visit Bhutan in November for about a week. We want to visit Thimphu, Paro, Punakha and Phobjikha. We'll be flying into Bagdora (India) and from there we'll take a taxi to Phuentsholing. Now the question is, is it better to take an Indian taxi from Siliguri itself for the whole tour or is it better to change taxi at Phuentsholing and take a Bhutanese one?
How are they taxi rates? Are the the Bhutanese taxis willing to go on week long tours? Do they charge by the day/distance?

Would be nice if anyone who's taken a Bhutanese taxi for their entire tour could give me some advice/recommendations.

Thanks in advance.
Also, what kind of taxis are available in Bhutan? We were planning to get a innova cab from bandora airport.
You can hire a local bhutanese taxi from phuntsholing for the entire length of your trip. I hired a hyundai santro taxi from phuntsholing in march of this year. I think I paid around 4000 per day. Rather than taking an Indian taxi its better you take a local taxi as the driver would know the place much better and also act as a guide for you.
